Acts of Kindness Community (Solent), AOK was founded in 2014 by Kerry Snuggs.

We started after a lady lost her wedding rings after her husband sadly passed away from cancer. A group was set up by Kerry on Facebook and in a tremendous act of kindness lots of people put their plans aside for the day and looked for the rings. They were found by a lovely couple who lived nearby and the rings were reunited with their owner.

We realised that many other people in the community needed help and support so the Facebook group remained open and has been an integral part in the growth of our charity.

We now have more than 11,000 members of the Facebook community alone and we have carried out thousands of acts of kindness.

Things changed dramatically for us in April 2020 when COVID-19 became a pandemic and we stepped up to provide vital support to the community.

With Fareham and Gosport basics food bank closed we became the food bank for the area, helped deliver prescriptions for those shielding and made regular calls to vulnerable people in the community.

We have provided more than 6,000 food parcels and continue to offer this service to those in need.
